Petoskey Stone Hunting

The most popular place for hunting Petoskey Stones is a Lake Michigan beach though the fossilized coral can be found nearly anywhere that there are rocks in the area.  These “stones” can be hunted from the springtime thaw until the snow flies late in the year.  The hot spot for Petoskey stones?  The Petoskey breakwall.  Other places to check are all along the bay in Harbor Springs and Petoskey including the areas listed below.
