Itineraries

Check out our suggested itineraries.  Select one, or group a few together.  Some tours are of the immediate area, some include regional attractions and some are geared to a particular interest.  All have something unique to offer you  and your group.

If none of these itineraries exactly suit you needs, we’ll help you plan whatever yourd like to offer your group.

Tour #1 – Mackinac island

  • Breakfast at a hotel or restaurant of your choice.
  • Depart for Mackinaw City.
  • Ferry to Mackinac Island.
  • Carriage tour of the island including Skull Cove, Arch Rock and Surrey Hill Square.
  • Lunch at the Grand Hotel.
  • Tour of Fort Mackinac (optional).
  • Shopping/browsing on the island.
  • Ferry Back to Mackinaw City.
  • Return to hotel.
  • Dinner.

Tour #2 – Indian River/Gaylord/Petoskey

  • Breakfast at hotel of restaurant of choice.
  • Bus to Indian River’s Cross-in-the-Woods, world’s largest crucifix and 50-bell carillon.
  • Drive to Gaylord for a view of elk in their natural habitat.
  • Lunch in Boyne City.
  • Tour of Kilwin’s.
  • Free time for shopping in the historic Gaslight District of Petoskey.
  • Return to hotel.
  • Dinner.

Tour #3 – Traverse City/Charlevoix

  • Breakfast at hotel or restaurant of choice.
  • Depart for Friske Orchards, south of Charlevoix.
  • Ride to the Music House in Traverse City with more than 30 automated musical instruments and music history galleries.
  • Lunch.
  • Drive to Charlevoix for a tour of this beautiful lakeside town.
  • Free time for shopping in Charlevoix.
  • Return to hotel.
  • Dinner.

Tour #4 – Soo Locks/Mackinaw City/Harbor Springs

  • Breakfast at hotel or restaurant of choice.
  • Board buses for 95-mile drive to Sault Ste. Marie and a tour of the Soo Locks, world’s longest parallel lock system.
  • Lunch.
  • Stop at either Fort Michilimackinac or Historic Mill Creek Discovery Center.
  • Drive back to Michigan’s lower peninsula over the Mackinac Bridge.
  • Return to Harbor Springs via Cross Village and M-119 (Shore Drive), driving through the famous “Tunnel of Trees” drive.
  • Free time for shopping in Harbor Springs.
  • Return to hotel.
  • Dinner.

Tour #5 – Charlevoix/Petoskey/Gaslight District

  • Breakfast at hotel or restaurant of choice.
  • Tour of historic Charlevoix homes.
  • Lunch and shopping at Bay Harbor.
  • Free time for shopping in Petoskey’s Gaslight District.
  • Return to hotel.
  • Dinner.

Tour #6 – Harbor Springs/Cross Village/Indian River

  • Breakfast at hotel or restaurant of choice.
  • Tour of Harbor Springs, one of the country’s “All American Cities.”
  • Scenic drive along M-119 through the “Tunnel of Trees” to Cross Village.
  • Continue on to Historic Mill Creek, an 18th century water-powered sawmill near Mackinaw City.
  • Lunch.
  • Drive to Indian River Shrine with world’s largest crucifix and 50-bell carillon.
  • Return to hotel.
  • Dinner.

Tour #7 – Murder Mystery Weekend

This special tour offers your group something unique that’s increasingly popular and guaranteed fun. The weekend is built around solving a murder (or two or three) based on information and clues cleverly provided in the course of the group’s stay. Professional actors and actresses play the roles, and prizes are awarded to participants who solve the mysterious happenings. Bring your group for the weekend, or combine this special tour with an extra night or two to enjoy all that our area has to offer. This special program is available at a limited number of properties.
