Whether you're hiking, biking, or blading the following routes, we're sure you'll enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan on these trails and parks.  

Avalanche Trail
Lake & Ann Streets, Boyne City
Trails range in difficulty from flat terrain to steep inclines. Hiking and mountain bike allowed. 9K, 4 loops.

Charlevoix X/C Ski Trail
Mt. McSauba, Charlevoix
Panoramic views of Lake Michigan. Conditions vary from flat ground to steep hills. Hiking and mountain biking allowed. 8K,
3 Loops.
Harbor Springs Community Park
Main & Hoyt Street, Harbor Springs

A half-mile groomed walking or riding path; paved rink for in-line skating and hockey; ramps; jumps and quarter-pipes for skateboarders. Hiking, biking and roller blading allowed.

North Central Michigan College
1515 Howard Street, Petoskey
This scenic trail borders the beautiful Bear River and offers a relatively flat course. Hiking and mountain biking allowed. 12K, 3 Loops.

Little Traverse Conservancy Trails
Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Charlevoix
More than seven different trail systems in Charlevoix and Emmet counties are protected by the Little Traverse Conservancy. Many of these have trail guides available on site. Hiking allowed and don't forget your camera!

Petoskey Multipurpose Trail
Petoskey

Trail encompasses a paved path and local sidewalks, and runs from Charlevoix on U.S. 31 through Bay Harbor and Bay View. In Petoskey, the path winds through beautiful Bayfront Park. Biking, blading and hiking are allowed. 29 miles start to finish, small segment on-road on U.S. 31.

Petoskey State Park

Those who choose to tackle these trails should be prepared for lots of hills. Hiking allowed on trails and street bikes allowed on interior roads. 5.5K, 2 Loops
Spring Brook Pathway
Chandler Road, Walloon Lake
Flat to hilly terrain. The most difficult portions of the loop are furthest from the trailhead. Hiking and mountain biking allowed. 10K, 3 Loops.

There are more than 250 miles of non-motorized recreational trails in Northern Michigan .

Bike, hike, run, roller blade, or use a wheelchair, as well as ride on horseback in one of the most scenic areas on earth. Cross country ski or show shoe through the woods. Some of our trails are open to snowmobiles. Top of Michigan Trails Council, based in Petoskey, also sponsors trail events.

Warner Creek

This trail is very scenic and winds along Warner Creek. Hiking allowed. 3.8K, 1 Loop. 

Wilderness State Park
Wilderness Park Dr., Mackinaw City

Great back-country trails with lake views. The terrain varies from flat to rolling. Mountain biking and hiking allowed. 55K, 5 Loops.

Wildwood Hills Pathway
Wildwood Road, Petoskey

The rolling hills on these trails make it an interesting trek. Mountain bike or hike. 15K, 3 Loops.

Young State Park
Boyne City Road, Boyne City

Pretty trails on the northern shore of Lake Charlevoix. No large hills. Hike. Street bikes allowed on interior roads. 6.4K, 3 Loops.
