The Historical Society is excited to welcome the schooner Madeline as a special guest during the Blessing of the Fleet event. Madeline is a fifty-six-foot, twin-masted replica of an 1840s commercial vessel. She was built between 1985 and 1990 in Traverse City by members of the non-profit group, the Maritime Heritage Alliance. Her namesake, the original schooner Madeline, was built in 1845 to carry freight around the Great Lakes.
The Madeline will be docked at the Harbor Springs Municipal Marina and open for free tours on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 26 and 27. She will also take part in the Harbor Springs' Blessing of the Fleet boat parade at 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
