The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society’s Harbor History Talk series continues on July 11 when they will welcome Chris Struble to present on the life of Ernest Hemingway. Struble is the President of the Michigan Hemingway Society and has a passion for local history and travel.
The Historical Society’s presentation will begin with a brief history and slideshow of Ernest Hemingway’s life by Struble followed by a screening of George Colburn’s film, “Young Hemingway & His Enduring Eden.” After the film there will be time for questions. The film is about an hour long and details Ernest Hemingway’s early life in northern Michigan as well as how his experiences influenced his writing.
The presentation will be held at the Lyric Theater in downtown Harbor Springs beginning at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $5 for Historical Society members and $10 for nonmembers. Refreshments will be available for purchase from the theater.
