The 38- mile waterway has been called "One of the most beautiful small boat trips in the country," and is Michigan's longest chain of rivers and lakes. In begins at Crooked lake (where boat rentals are available), then runs through Crooked River, Burt Lake, Indian River, Mullett Lake, Cheboygan River, and finally out to Lake Huron.
Much of Crooked River is a no-wake zone making for a peaceful trip.
