Petoskey Stone Hunting

The Petoskey Stone was designated Michigan’s state stone in 1965. Today, the most popular place for hunting them is a Lake Michigan beach. These “stones” can be hunted from springtime until the snow flies. The hot spot for Petoskey stones? The Petoskey breakwall.
